Use case: Start this year’s budget from last year’s

The annual conference is back in a new city with a bigger target, and last year’s spreadsheet already has the split you trust between food, rooms, AV and everything else.

Scale last year’s budget

1. Set this year’s target budget in Event settings.
2. Click Budget, then Build.
3. Click the + button on the right. In the New scenario menu, choose From past budget.
4. Upload last year’s budget as an .xlsx or .csv file, with one column for the category and one for the amount.

Aletheia keeps each line’s share of last year’s total and scales it to your target. If you haven’t set a target, the draft comes in 5% above last year.

For example, last year came to $400,000 and food and drinks were 30% of it. With a $450,000 target, food and drinks start at $135,000.
